Little Ben, Or Should I Say, Big Ben

Isn't this the most cuttest kid? I need a sticker here in Japan that states, "my chubby nephew can beat yours up!"
Now tell me, what Gallegos kid did not like water when they were babies?
I only hope Ben won't be scared of me when he sees me again. It's hard enough when I call home and I hear him in the background talking the baby talk.
I remember Mathew was just born when I left to France to study; I missed a lot, but when I returned he and I were glue. I miss so much all the Gallegos children. As for little Ben, just remind him that someone far away loves him too. Tia Bibi

Halloween

"Tigers and bears, OH MY!" Well, not this year! Before you ask, "why is Elvira holding cans?" Yes, well she had the brilliant idea of being a Can Can Dancer. Get it? CAN CAN. Ha Brilliant! I made the costume and added some beads to my skirt a nd blouse. Pretty cool, huh. Lots of different costumes including the Ninjia Turltle outfit John stole from a 3 year old kid. It was a blast! Here in Okinawa there is no time that a bar has to close, so we stayed, actually I stayed until 4:45 am.

It was a blast! By the end of the night, some of the JETS were on the bar dancing to their hearts content. Groovy prizes and an open upper deck played out quite nicely.

Some of the best costumes I believe included: Osama Bin Laden,
Pippi Longstalking and the Pirate,
Cowboy Kid - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
among others.

At school I couldn't wear my dancer outfit because it's too low cut, so instead I borrowed my friend Kerrys' idean of Medussa. The kids loved it, everytime I walked into class they stared clapping. I handed out candies bought from Kadena Base. If you want to see some more costumes click over to my pictures and find the "halloween" folder.

When you read this, you will be dissapointed!

I SHALL NOT FEEL GUILTY
I actually did it, many people will be disappointed in me. I am sorry but I had to do it? Why did I steep so down to such levels? Well, little homesickness, mixed with a cold, add a little of a sore throat that won’t go away, and what do you get? The need to actually spend 9.00 dollars on a melon. I had a big craving for some fruit, So yes, 9 US dollars on a melon! The nerve! Stop what you’re doing! BOYCOTT do what you have to do, but yes, I spent 9 US dollars on a MELON!
Why so much? There is a thing called rent. Yes
rent. The melons here are specially grown and housed. So some of the 9 dollars goes to rent and for keeping of the melon. Do I sound crazy? It’s the only way that I can justify 980 Yen on a melon. If I think this melon is truly special, then I can enjoy it freely without feeling guilty that I spent 980 Yen on a melon.
Now the question you all been waiting to ask? Was it at least good? IT TURNED OUT TO BE ROTTEN!! I will return it tomorrow morning! YUK YUK YUK!!

UPDATE- Today I went and got a refund!!!
